‘The greenest building is the one that already exists’

With the completion and handover of our latest housing project, Main Street, Charleville, Godwin, along with our key stakeholders are continuing to deliver much-needed housing stock. This historic building once hosted the Charleville Christian Brothers School, attended by former president Eamon de Valera between 1896 and 1898.

With the relocation of the CBS in 1972, the property succumbed to dereliction in recent years, until it was delisted as a protected structure in 2015 to allow for redevelopment. Godwin brought this building up to modern standards, while retaining the prominent character of the original structure. These 9 A-Rated homes were handed over to the Peter McVerry Trust for the provision of much-needed social housing.

One of our key objectives is to ensure the existing supply of properties is fully utilised in the midst of this housing crisis.
